OUR STORY

Young Leaders of Tasmania Ltd (YLOT) is a community not-for-profit organisation whose vision is for every young Tasmanian, including those living with disability, to reach his or her full potential.

Young Leaders of Tasmania grew from the experiences of a young girl living with severe disability, Isabella Franks. Bella was found to significantly influence the personal growth and leadership qualities of fellow students and those around her.  It was through this positive influence upon the lives of Bella’s fellow students that we began to witness a natural growth and development of leadership skills.

A ground-breaking initiative, our programs are transforming the lives of young Tasmanians by:

  • Changing community perception of disability
  • Encouraging inclusion and acceptance
  • Increasing workforce participation in the disability sector
  • Increasing personal growth and leadership amongst young Tasmanians
  • Providing peer to peer interactions
